We’re down to the last 16 of the World Squash Junior Championships at the White Oaks Resort in Niagara-on-the Lake, Canada.
Play begins at 11:10 (GMT-4) on the all-glass court, which hosts 12 matches today. First into the fray are Hong Kong, China’s Ena Kwong and Savannah Moxham of Belgium. That match is followed by a clash between Moxham’s brother Maddox and Malaysia’s Nickhileswar Moganasundharam.
Top seeds Mohamad Zakaria and Anahat Singh are also involved today, with Egypt’s Zakaria looking to make history by becoming the first male player to win the championships three times having already earned the crown of youngest ever male champion. Singh, meanwhile, is hoping to become India’s first ever junior world champion.
Elsewhere, Marwan Assal – younger brother of PSA World No.1 Mostafa – celebrates his 18th birthday with a match against USA’s Lars Gertsen at 17:00.
Away from the show court, placement matches are also taking place.
