WSF World Junior Squash Championships 20 July – 31 July 2026, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada
It’s quarter-finals day of the World Squash Junior Championships at the White Oaks Resort in Niagara-on-the Lake, Canada, as just 16 players remain across the men’s and women’s draws.
Play begins at 13:00 (GMT-4) on the all-glass court, which hosts all eight quarter-finals today.
The opening match sees Egypt’s 3/4 seed Barb Sameh up against 5/8 seed Helen Tang of Hong Kong, China. Following impressive wins yesterday, Belgium’s Moxham siblings – Maddox and Savannah – are up next, with 9/12 seed Maddox up against Egyptian 3/4 seed Seifeldin Refaay at 14:00 followed by 5/8 seed Savannah v Refaay’s compatriot, 3/4 seed Malika Elkaraksy.
The 16:00 could bring fireworks, with 3/4 seed Marwan Assal – who today celebrates his 18th birthday – facing European U19 champion and 5/8 seed Amir Khaled-Jousselin of France.
At 17:00, women’s top seed Anahat Singh returns to court, she’ll continue her bid to become India’s first ever individual world champion with what will likely be a testing encounter against Egyptian 5/8 seed Habiba Rizk.
Then, it’s the turn of men’s top seed Mohamad Zakaria. The Egyptian, World No.7 on the PSA Squash Tour and the youngest ever male player to win World Juniors, is aiming for more history as a title this week would make him the first player is squash history to win the men’s event three times. Standing between Zakaria and the semi-finals is USA’s 9/12 seed Yaseen Shalaby, who upset Indian 5/8 seed Aryaveer Dewan last night and is is yet to drop a game after three matches.
In the last two matches of the day, Malaysia’s 9/12 Whitney Wilson faces women’s No.2 seed Ruqayya Salem of Egypt before play ends with 9/12 seed Mohammed Alnasfan – the first ever player from Saudi Arabia to reach this stage – against Egyptian No.2 seed Adam Hawal.
Away from the show court, placement matches are also taking place.
